These pictures might have been made in the same general location, in and around Manhattan, Kansas where I was raised, but it is difficult to think of them as a project. Whatever else they might be, I can only say with certainty that they were made over a number of years during infrequent trips home, and mostly in winter when I visit Grandma Mary. Together we watch The Golden Girls or Perry Mason, we play Scrabble, and then I keep busy making pictures. In just about that order.
