every poem i write 

i’m disappointed with

 

 

maybe it’s for 

the better

 

 

i also get hype about them though

 

 

my poems i mean

 

 

          heard someone say there’s

no such thing

as a contradiction,

like it can’t be

real

           that was in a novel i’m reading (Atlas Shrugged)

putting the title of the novel

in this poem almost guarantees

that it won’t get published 

since there’s such a huge 

stigma against 

that novel, & against 

its author

 

 

oh well though, it had to be done

 

 

like it wanted to be in the poem

i talk to the poem as i write it

 

 

Ginsberg said you

have to forget 

about having ur voice heard

       for it to be heard 

       no clue if that’s 

              right or wrong

 

 

nobody can say,

           or that is to say 

i can’t say

          if anyone 

can say

 

 

            it used to be cool to drag 

            artists and writers if they 

            were/are problematic 

   but now i’ve noticed it’s coming 

   into fashion to be okay with eng

   aging with an artist’s work, regardless,

                     so now it’s like it’s

                     more cringe to write

                     off that artist for the pro

   blematic stuff they did/said than 

   it is to read them or admire them!

 

 

              you have to

                   keep up 

                        with these things!!!

come out

looking gauche

 

 

                     looking unrefined

not to care what other 

people think like
