Une Soirée avec Beckett photo

The Valentine’s Day soirée hosted by Beckett, now a month removed, was a part whore/part homely crowd  crowdpleaser. Nico Walker’s nodder odes opened the show but the star writer was poetess Dorothea Lasky.

While the men mostly feared the women, the ladies took charge of le gran salle (sometimes quite literally.) From burlesque to Argentine Urbano to Italian opera (sung by a Russian,) the night was full of surprises.

Friends for the night of all stripes gathered ‘round the bar’s debonair mixologists to celebrate and eschew the bitter cold winds of a dark, dank February. They raised glasses in hopes of brighter, sunnier days. The guests mostly scurried away alone at the end. Love & friendship be damned.
