Open Windows
A Contrapuntal

The heat                                                                 here in Texas
is such to close                                     the heart and the rain; let us shut
the windows                                                            and shirk our responsibilities
And let the coolness                             bargain our souls for whiskey and wine
pour out                                                                   and sweat
on your lover’s skin                               and then memorize
cover your                                                               head out to the darkness; protecting the
collarbone with kisses                           lips that move towards open windows.

The Money Monster

SHUT UP, shut up,
Dear love.
You are talking about
                        WHAT, time again,
money, our finite relationship
Our resources,
Our bread, man, our BREAD
AND BUTTER.
And the other shoe
                      The dog ate
And threw up on the floor.

Dear love, come hug
Me              and tell me I am beautiful,
Wipe    my      tears
Extend my credit
To new hands that
                       Can
                             Hold
The soul of
Your shoes.
Tender lover.
